2009 was an amazing year for me as I was able to explore my long held dream of photography. Before I was quite ready to handle it I had more clients than I could count! How wonderful to finally explore my dream.
I counted and realized I shot over 14 weddings and too many sessions to count. I have grown as a photographer and person and am grateful for the experience.
As amazing as the experience has been it has been effecting the amount of time I have to spend with my family, especially my son. I can either have photography or I can have a life.
So with a happy heart I have closed Elmwood Court Photography and am spending time with my family.
Thank you to all my clients for an amazing year and for letting me be a part of your special moments.
Although I may still be posting sessions they are only for my family and friends and I thank you for your interest but I am no longer accepting clients with no exceptions.
Thank you again,
Amy

Target practice

So today I decided to practice with my target and work on white balance and exposure. Once I got outside and setup I realized I forgot the target out in the car. Oh well, I figured I could still get a little practice in.

But all I got was this..... and this....
OK, well I did get this one

but decied to stop torturing my son and went inside. After a 20 minuet nap, a bottle, and three (yes three) poopy diapers he was all smiles so I tried again, (with the target this time) and got this ...
and this...

and this...
My son is definitely my favorite model but I'm getting a funny feeling he doesn't feel the same way I do. (see hand)

Urban Practice

Taking what I learned yesterday I convinced my niece to let me practice on her. We drove a few blocks from my house, found an abandoned parking lot, and had fun running around for 30 minutes taking photos.

Again I learn a lot from my mistakes and had a lot of fun.

Yet another aha moment.

S & R Wedding 9/20/08 Part 1

After a simple civil ceremony Sherry and Rick had always planned to have a big church wedding someday. Well after three beautiful girls and 1o years together they got their big celebration, and what a celebration it was!

The bride's nephews bumped heads with his brother a few days before the wedding leaving this little boy with two black eyes. He was adorable and I called him bruiser all night.

Come on November 17th!

I received the binder for my photography class that starts in November. I so excited and super hopeful that it will be an opportunity to really improve my photos. I haven't had much luck with classes so far.

I took some classes at Claremont but while the teacher was great I didn't learn as much as I was hoping.

I signed up for a class through UCR. It was so bad I dropped it after only one class. I seriously think I know more than the teacher did. Ugh!
So come on November 17th!

AND it's my first wedding anniversary too. Score!

Mmmm maybe I need to work on my priorities.

I think a photography class should be a requirement in all educational programs because it makes you see the world rather than just look at it. ~Author Unknown
